Behind-The-Wheel Training (6 hours)

 

Driving Sessions

 

The behind-the-wheel driving sessions will consist of 6 hours of driving instruction. Sessions are scheduled according to student's progress. Driving sessions are structured in a step-by-step approach designed to progressively build skills and confidence in the novice driver. A state certified driving instructor will accompany the student in a DriveErie LLC automobile for their driving sessions.

Early

Driving sessions emphasize vehicle familiarization, control of the vehicle and basic traffic skills. These sessions will primarily be in residential, rural, and light urban areas.

Intermediate

Driving sessions will concentrate on parking and interstate/expressway driving. Sessions will primarily be in light and moderate urban traffic, as well as, interstate/expressway.

Ending

Driving sessions will highlight rules of the road in urban areas and the business district. The last half hour of the 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training will be the driver's license test. Click here for more information.

General Driving Habits will be included in each of the driving sessions. Topics included but not limited to: defensive driving, search habits, space management, avenue of escape, right-of-way, etc...

 

  

Training Locations

 

The instructor will determine a location for driving sessions based on experience of the student. When necessary the instructor may need to drive the student to and from a predetermined location. This journey time forms part of the paid lesson.

 

   

Training Vehicles

 

All training vehicles utilized by DriveErie, LLC are registered with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and meet all requirements for driver training vehicles. They are covered by commercial liability insurance, fitted with dual controls and meet all safety standards for driver training.
